Welcome to MyRagan, so glad you could make it ...

Okay, I've gotten just about zero paying work done over the last few days.

Since Ragan launched this MySpace-type networking site for communicators--MyRagan.com--I've been out there every damn second, even though I'm not paid a lick by Ragan to participate.

(In fact, they'll soon sense my almost insane eagerness and they'll probably begin to charge me.)

It's like opening a new restaurant, this MyRagan thing. People pour in the front door, you can't welcome them warmly enough--or, to your delight, fast enough--and you're still trying to figure out the seating chart yourself.

But it's fun. It's really fun.

We still have lots of seats available. Unlimited seating, actually.

Come on in. Sit anywhere you like. We're so glad you're here.

Hey, your MyRagan photo is a lot cuter than your Secret Service blog photo. I'm just saying, is all.

Thanks for sharing the opportunities for nonremunerative activity with me. I really didn't have enough of those.

As many of my correspondents can attest, I am the king of offering nonrenumerative activities. This is the rare such opportunity I've TAKEN quite so enthusiastically. So it must be good.

And as for the photos, I'm not trying to look cute. I'm trying to look cool. Trying, and, as always failing terribly.

Face it, Murr. Opie can only look so cool.

What Robert is referring to, Ladies and Gents, is a period of about 10 years in our careers when Robert and I had to acknowledge that, based on our boyish, innocent looks, we were both the Opie Taylors of the communication profession.

That used to be painful. Now what's painful is that we'd be flattering ourselves to say that .....

You're not getting paid? I am. I thought we both were. You should talk to Mark.

I think you'd look cooler if you had a "Berman's the Leather Experts" jacket on. I think they're still at Chapel Hill Mall in Akron, Ohio. Next to Spencers. Just a thought.

Speak for yourself, David. I still have that boyish innocent look. I don't know what the hell happened to you.

You live a little cleaner than I do, Ope.

And Eileen--no more redundancies please. As you know, Bermans and leather go together. In fact, they're almost one and the same.

Seriously, it's a cool site--like LinkedIn but only for communicators. I can see that I'll spend many hours there getting my profile finished (yes, I'm working on a photo, David, ya big nag), seeing who else is there, joining groups, and making communication history.
