Anyone else love actress Keira Knightley as much as me?
OK—sorry—wrong place, wrong time for that conversation.
She is starring in a new commercial about domestic violence that’s directed by Joe Wright, director of Knightley’s films Atonement and Pride and Prejudice. In the ad, Knightley is badly beaten by her boyfriend.
The powerful—and graphic—commercial, a campaign for the charity Women’s Aid, will run in movie theaters starting April 6. Let's hope that with star power attached to the campaign,it brings greater attention to domestic violence—a problem that's worsening with the economy.

Message rings loud and clear. All women in this type of relationship, young and old, may get the push they need to get out by seeing the gaphic situation from the outside in.

Brilliantly done, especially the shifts between studio, "real life" and studio that will make people pay attention and realize that it's not a movie trailer.
And very timely, since tougher economic times and layoffs always cause an increase in domestic violence.
And will someone please raspberry whoever used the term "starlet" to describe Keira Knightly on the original link to this piece?

I wish this would run on MTV, VH1 and any other station that shows videos calling women "ho's", "--tches," and other derogatory terms. Research has shown some forms of abuse begin when one person sees the other as property.
