« New Web site aggregates top stories—with a twist | Main | Michael Vick’s second act has begun—with cheers, not boos »

Have you seen last week’s most popular viral video?

Advertising Age published its weekly list of the top viral videos, based on data from Visible Measures, and the most popular video during the week of Thanksgiving was, “Sexy Pilgrim.” According to Advertising Age, the video has racked up more than 3 million views. Its purpose is to promote Muscle Milk, a muscle-building supplement that looks like chocolate milk, or something, and makes you look like the guy on the right in this picture, I imagine.

I didn’t want to laugh at this video—the star and the concept turned me off. But when the pilgrim sings, “How’d I get these abs? Crunches? How do I solve crimes? Hunches.” I laughed. Yeah, it was cheap, but hey, it’s Friday. What do you want from me?

There go three minutes of my life that I'll never get back. Feh.

A bit too white for the song and a black man is just not right for the situation but I think that would have been a better and shock full ad.

This was probably made by some ultra-hip, 25-year-old creative and for that reason I hate it.
